A very special project Origino has been involved in from the early days in 2016 is Oersprong, (which translates as Primal-leap, and is also a word-pun to the origin of life. See www.oersprong.nu). With the only bought inputs of part of the seeds, chickenfeed and fishfeed, we produce eggs, fish, mushrooms, veggies, greens, herbs, insects, duckweed, compost and its teas, biostimulants, and many other products.
Trees surrounding the yard are still small, as they've only been recently planted. Yet - at least those trees that did dry out or drowned from excessive rainfall - now start to show the first fruits, nuts, edible leaves and of course organic wastes, that are re-used to make heat and compost.
Impossible? No, not quite, as we combine it with harvested rainwater, and reuse all minerals and organic matter that are in the so-called waste.
This is all done small scale. So it was ideal from the early days on, to combine this with creating daycare opportunities for people who found it difficult to compete in the ratrace of modern life (and who doesn't have difficulties with that?). However, now, in mid-2024, and after much deliberation, it has become apparent that we have to take a different route with Oersprong's daycare activities.
The big question that arises is: how can we continue to connect people with small but good deeds? Because, when that question is answered, the growth of the individual, along with the growth of the other participants will follow automatically...
Finding 'the right' other route takes time and expertise and must then be followed up by simply following that new path. If you are reading this and think: I have time, or expertise, or you sense what this is process requires, please do not hesitate to contact me via the contact page.
Maybe the above call for support is dreamy, or naive, or completely foolish... But yes, it was also that dreaminess, naivete and foolishness that led to starting Oersprong.
